What's the process when buying a puppy?
A simplified explanation of what to expect when buying a puppy from Mini Doodle Dogs.
1. You see a puppy you love and want to bring home!
We'll post pictures of our currently available puppies or previous litters of puppies to show examples of what upcoming puppies could look like. If you see a puppy you like and it's not available let us know and we'll tell you when we expect to have a puppy with similar coat, color, temperament, size etc will be available.
2. You place a deposit on the size & breed of puppy you're wanting
To reserve a puppy we need to know that you're committed to loving and caring for your puppy, so before we'll put your name down as committed we ask for a $500 Non-refundable deposit. This gives us a timestamp so we know exactly who placed what deposits on which breed & size at exactly what time. The deposit commitment marks your place in selections when the time comes to pick your puppy.
3. The litter is born & genders are available for deposits
When the puppies aren't born before deposits are placed we can only take an estimated amount of deposits. Once the litter is born we know exactly how many boys & how many girls are available.
4. Puppy Selections will begin once the puppies are old enough.
In order of deposit each family will have pictures and videos (or a Facetime call) available to select from the available puppies which one they love the most and want to make their furever pet! Selections will start with the first deposit & continue until all the puppies have been selected. Each family will have up to 24 hours to choose their puppy at which time we'll continue with the next in the selections list until everyone has picked their puppy.
5. An installment payment is paid once you pick your puppy!
Once you've picked your puppy, an installment payment is made toward the puppy. This helps to break up payments to make it easier for banks to process and less difficulty for the families. We'll send you an email invoice and a time frame to complete it.
6. We'll send you our Puppy Contract & Final Invoice
We'll email you our Mini Doodle Dogs puppy contract with our 1 year Genetic Health Guarantee, as well as some basic instructions for what to prepare for when your puppy comes home.
7. You make the Final Payment to pay off the puppy prior to delivery.
With the prior installments subtracted we will email you an invoice with the final balance due within 7 days or up to 3 days prior to the puppy leaving us (whichever is first). You make the final payment with enough time for it to clear before the puppy leaves with you or with your puppy nanny. If payment in cash is preferred contact us to make arrangements beforehand.
8. You book your flights, or contact your Pet Nanny to arrange for bringing your new puppy home.
We are always happy for families to fly in to pick up their new furever family member, but as that's not always easy we have a couple Pet Nannies we can recommend for transporting your pet home to you. Each pet nanny needs as much time as possible to book flights to get you your pet home on time, so be sure to contact them with your deposit, airport, & contact information as soon as you're able.
9. We'll deliver your new puppy to the pet nanny at the airport, or you can come pick them up!
It's time for your puppy pick up! If you're flying in we'll give you our address, or we can arrange a meeting location to deliver you the puppy. For those with a pet nanny flying the puppy we'll coordinate with the pet nanny of your choosing and meet them at the airport where they'll take the puppy & the puppy transition pack to deliver to you.
10. You take your puppy home to love and care for furever!
You take your puppy home or the pet nanny delivers you your pet and then you take him/her home. With each puppy we send a puppy transition pack with all of their original Vaccination & Vet check records, State Health Certificates where needed for flights, a blanket that smells like mama & littermates, a toy to snuggle, a rope to chew, & a bag of their puppy food to use as you transition to the puppy food you've chosen to feed them.
